The Assemblies of Yahweh traces its roots to the early Messianic assembly that fled from Jerusalem prior to the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 C.E. Over the centuries, historical records concerning these remnant True Worshipers became sparse.
In modern times, the Assemblies of Yahweh came into existence through a radio broadcast begun by Elder Jacob O. Meyer in 1966. The organization was formally chartered in 1969 and strives to fulfill the Great Commission as recorded in Matthew 28:19–20.
Mission Statement
“The purpose for which this corporation has been formed is: to teach and preach the Word and sacred Name of our heavenly Father and the truth of the inspired Scriptures, to promote the interest of religion and the spread of spiritual holiness throughout the world, to assemble for worship to accomplish these beliefs and purposes, and to engage exclusively in such religious, educational, and charitable purposes as are within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 and its regulations as they now exist or as they may hereafter be amended.”
Our Purpose
The Assemblies of Yahweh was founded for the purpose of preaching the truth of the inspired Scriptures to a spiritually lost world. The ministry seeks to harmonize the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, thereby achieving sound doctrine with consistency.
To correct doctrinal error, the Assemblies of Yahweh returns to the original biblical texts as closely as possible. In obedience to the commandment to worship together (Hebrews 10:25), regular worship services are held in various locations, including the International Headquarters Convocation Center in Bethel, Pennsylvania, throughout the United States, and in foreign countries.
A major goal of the Assemblies of Yahweh is to encourage the development of individual spiritual character through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, so that all who desire may qualify as converted children of the Most High Father in heaven.
Core Teachings
The Assemblies of Yahweh teaches the importance of the revealed, personal Name of the Heavenly Father and of His Son, Yahshua the Messiah. This primary scriptural doctrine sets the Assemblies of Yahweh apart from other religious groups today.
The ministry also teaches the keeping of the commandments of Yahweh and that each member should voluntarily live a strict moral life in complete submission to Yahweh’s royal law.
The Assemblies of Yahweh is a nonprofit religious organization with its International Headquarters located in Bethel, Pennsylvania.
Doctrinally, the Assemblies of Yahweh holds a conservative position in biblical interpretation, affirming that the sacred Scriptures should be interpreted as literally as possible and faithfully obeyed by dedicated believers.
Standing between Chr-stianity and Judaism, the Assemblies of Yahweh today holds a position similar to that of the Nazarenes mentioned in Acts 24:5, striving to fulfill the description of the True Worshipers found in Revelation 12:17 and 14:12.
The Basis of Our Faith
- Using the personal revealed Name, Yahweh (Isaiah 42:8)
- Living a converted spiritual life (Acts 2:38)
- Keeping the Bible as a complete and unified whole (Matthew 5:17–20)
- Observing the appointed biblical holy feasts (Leviticus 23)
- Keeping the seventh-day Sabbath holy (Exodus 20:8–11)
- Observing the biblical clean food laws (Deuteronomy 14)
- Looking forward to the return of Yahshua the Messiah (Revelation 1:7)

With a view toward preaching the truth of the sacred Scriptures and heralding the coming Kingdom of Yahweh, the Assemblies of Yahweh constructed a shortwave radio station. Ongoing outreach and service efforts include:
- The Sacred Name Telecast

Publications
The Sacred Name Broadcaster is a monthly publication designed to disseminate continuing biblical research. Each issue includes articles on various subjects and a regular feature titled “Prophetic Trends,” which examines current events in relation to Bible prophecy.
To fill the need for an accurate scholarly Bible translation using the Sacred Name, the Assemblies of Yahweh undertook a major publication project in 1981. The result was The Sacred Scriptures, Bethel Edition, representing the culmination of more than six centuries of translation work.
